Transportation in China
Posted by: | CommentsTraveling around China can be accomplished in a number of ways. With over 140 airports throughout China, air travel is easy. Rail travel is also easily accessible. Traveling by automobile, on the other hand, can be difficult, expensive, and downright dangerous!
There are twelve main airports in China, covering mainly the eastern and southeast regions of the country. In the north, Beijing Airport and its northern partner, Dailain Airport account for the most passengers in the northeast. Further down along the coast, Shanghai has two major airports – Honggiao and Pudong – for the many millions of passengers who come to the Shanghai region each year. Xiamen, Baiyun, Baoan, and Hong Kong Airport take up the most southeast traffic. Further inland, the major airports of Xianyang, Chengdu, Chongging and Guilin make travel throughout the western areas more accessible.
The most popular airlines within China are Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Dragon Air, and Hainan Airlines. There are many more airlines and it is wise to check prices before you leave home in order to ensure you have a cheap and efficient flight within China.
The first railway in China was built in 1874. Now, there are tens of thousands of miles of track linking virtually every town and city. There are four classes of train travel within China – hard seat, soft seat, hard sleeper, and soft sleeper. Like it sounds, hard seat is the most unpleasant but also the cheapest. It is similar to “coach” class. Soft seat is a first class ride for short distances. Hard sleeper is a semi-private sleeping car, soft sleeper is more private and bedding is provided.

Asia Vacation
Posted by: | Comments

“What makes an Asia vacation so special?” That’s what I’ve been asked many times in the last few years. Because, I can’t help it… talk about Asia vacation, and I’m on a roll.
Maybe it’s because I’ve been traveling and vacationing numerous times in Asia in the last five years — my last Asia vacation has actually lasted now for around two years…
…Maybe it’s because some of the Asian countries are really opening up to tourism now, and that of course means there are more opportunities to experience more different cultures, people, historic landmarks, and much more…
…Or maybe it’s because I simply got seduced by the natural beauty, the tropical weather, the variety in the people, and that “exotic something” you find in Asia.
A Step Closer to Paradise

Have you ever though about escaping from your daily, boring routine and diving into a fresh new world that you have never experienced before? Did it ever cross your mind that just a few hundred (heh, thousands probably!) miles away you could find the most exotic and colorful bazaar of people, religions and nature? Well, I bet you have thought about that but in most cases your mind would have fantasized about exotic beaches like Miami or the Caribbean isles. Not bad, not at all! However, I have something better to propose, Asia. Yes, if you are seeking for a brand new, shockingly different experience then Asia is the place to go!
Asia is the mother of countless religions, cultures, stories and myths. Each country in Asia has its very unique living style and customs; experiences you might never have if you never leave the boarders of the western world. You should bear in mind that there are lots of countries that you could visit while roaming around Asia. You could be in the most hi-tech country of the world, Japan or you could go to virgin exotic places, never touched by the human kind such as Singapore, Thailand and Laos. Of course, you shouldn’t miss Asia’s big sons, China and India! Sri Lanka is a really good destination if you need to concentrate inside yourself and possibly test your limits.
If you are a fan of sight seeing then you should spend some time in Bangkok and Singapore. You just can’t imagine how beautiful those places are! Apart from sight seeing, you could pay a visit to the Crocodile farm or to one of the Bangkok’s Zoos; you could visit the Thai Human Imagery museum or you could simply relax yourself in spas. In case you are seeking for adventure you could always take a night safari in Singapore and watch all wild animals in action! Of course, there are countless other interesting things to do but wouldn’t it be cooler if you discovered them by yourself?
